Hiring me would be like the New Zealand Warriors starting their season, in the Grand Final.
OK, not quite the stuff of dreams but it’s a head start all the same. When you hire someone who's been a senior suit, you get all the non-idea side of things that take most creatives a long time to learn.
Understanding how ideas move through an agency? Yep.
Reading, questioning and pushing back on a brief for clarity? Yep.
Building the kind of client relationships where you can present the work and have meaningful discussions about the ideas? Yep.
An understanding of the financial side of making ideas happen? Yep.
Knowing how to do timesheets? TBC.

It’d be great if I could be paid heaps. But the reality is, I’m starting low in the food chain and the initial pay will have reflect that.
I’d like to think that once the start happens, I’ll be able to progress through quite quickly (relatively speaking). Or I’ll be eating noodles for longer than anticipated.

I enjoy solving problems more than I do helping others to solve them.
There also aren’t many creatives that look like me (here or globally), and I’d like to try and do my bit to change that.

I've been helping creatives at most agencies I’ve been at, quietly for years; scamps, TV and radio scripts, directing talent, ideating on briefs and presenting to client. Now I want to do it properly.
I also completed Award School a few years back where one of my tutors had this lovely thing to say (after class finished) “I expected to see way more of your work and your face at the grad. You did such a wonderful job so a huge congrats to you. Hopefully you get over to the creative dark side asap and we can see more of what you have to offer!”.
ASAP just took about 4 years to commit to.

As a suit, I’ve worked all over Auckland with a cameo or two in Wellington (remotely)- 99 (RIP), Augusto, FCB (RIP - sorta), Ambitious (remotely), Colenso, Clemenger (remotely), Special and Dentsu / WiTH Collective from what I can remember. I’ve worked brands like Contact, a lot of banks (ASB, BNZ and TSB), Airwallex, Silver Fern Farms, the Department of the Prime Minister, Vodafone/One New Zealand to name a few.
