CULTURAL EXCHANGE
Award School
Client: Qantas
The context
Qantas have just announced their new (when briefed) direct route from Sydney to London, making getting to a cultural capital less hassle than before.
The Insight
Historically, everything valuable in Australia has only travelled one way - from Australia to England; artifacts, resources, or people.
The Idea
To announce the launch of the new direct flight route from Sydney to London, we turned one historic occasion into another.
The Execution
The Gweagal Shield was the first artifact taken from Australian soil in 1770, ultimately residing at a London Museum. We’d partner with Robert Kelly, a descendant of the Gweagal tribe that the shield belongs to, and document his journey to date, including the inaugural flight, and the historic moment when he returns home with the Gweagal Shield.
